I was thinking about the words "Yes" and "No". They have both been important words in my life. I, like everyone else in the world, have heard them both a lot. I love hearing the word "Yes". But I wonder if the word "No" has been more important in the long run. Spoiled kids are rough. These are kids who have heard yes way more than no. I have been thinking about why that happens. As a Dad I love it when my kids are happy. But if I fall in love with them being happy I run the risk of saying yes too much. Saying no can be a sign of a deeper love. I was thinking of all the prayers I have ever prayed. If God had said yes to every prayer I am sure I would be a mess. In scripture Jesus said that if we being evil know how to give good gifts to our children, how much more does our Heavenly Father know how to give good gifts to us. Indeed. But to be entirely honest, some of the greatest gifts God has given to me is saying no when I desperately wanted him to say yes. There were times I pouted and sulked and mumbled how little He loved me. And yet, now at 50 years old, I can look back and see the greatest gifts ever started with the word no. So, today I am thankful for a God who has said yes plenty of times but has loved me enough to say no.

The most important prayer in anyone's life starts with admitting to himself/herself and before God YES I am a sinner (sin is not talked about a great deal these days yet Jesus spoke much of sin and more of hell than heaven) and NO there is NOTHING I can do in or by myself(humanism) that can remove, erase, or cleanse me from my sin. NO not talking about sin does not mean it does not exist YES it does. And YES there is a heaven and a hell (separation from God for eternity) YES there is but ONE God who sent his only begotten SON he himself God and man to die a brutal death on the cross and take the world's sins upon himself that YES we have a Savior Jesus the Christ who was raised from the dead that can and does forgive us of our sins that we may have eternal life. YES the message is being dumbed down across the world and in churches when it needs to be clear and repeated over and over from God's word. YES there is an evil one, satan, who does not want this message declared or heard that hearts may remain hardened. YES JESUS IS ALIVE. YES we have an advocate before the Holy God praise His Holy Name. YES all people have the opportunity/choice to make a decision to follow Jesus or the ruler of this world or suffer the eternal consequences of no decision. Now is the time for salvation. Will you say YES or NO.
